How I made the AI Plugin That Automatically Edits your videos for you.

It was 4AM, I'm half-asleep at my desk, forcing my eyes to sfinishing a music video for Gloss Up. Sheโ€™d flown into LA for a few days, and I just shot a music video that needed to be ready the very next day for her album release.

Gloss was opening on tour for Lil Baby, and after our shoot, she asked if I could join her to film her opening set for the rest of the tour leg. Of course I said yes. But first, I had to prove myself and finish this edit by the next morning.

The hard part wasnโ€™t making it look good, it was just getting through the 2-3 hours of syncing all the performance takes and cutting everything to the beat and then alternating between cuts. This is all before I could even start editing the actual creative parts of the video. Hours of setup work, and I was running on pure Celcius at this point.

I eventually finished the edit (you can watch it below) but that was proably one of the worst editing sessions of my life, because I was just so tired as it. And of course that was then followed by 19 shows of recap videso I had to turn around in 24 hours too.ย

If youโ€™ve ever edited a music video or event recap, you know how this feels, then endless manual trimming, matching every clip to the beat, adding in effects one by one, all while having a turnaround in under 24 hours. Itโ€™s why I started reasearching ways I can automate this process. And luckily, after months of testing and development, I found a way...

Thatโ€™s how the AutoEdit plugin was built.

What Is AutoEdit?

AutoEdit is an AI-powered Premiere Pro plugin that automatically edits music videos and event recaps to the beat, so you can skip the boring timeline setup and get to the actual creativity sooner.

Instead of spending hours syncing performance takes or cutting b-roll, AutoEdit does the foundational heavy lifting in seconds. Itโ€™s like having a digital assistant that:

  • Detects the BPM of your track

  • Auto-sequences your performance takes (in โ€œStaircase,โ€ โ€œManual,โ€ or โ€œRandomโ€ modes)

  • Applies camera shakes, light leaks, and overlays with the AI VFX Applier

  • Generates title cards for clean, ready-to-use intros

Think of it as a jumpstart button for your edit.

How It Works

  1. Import your track & footage. Drop in your MP3 and performance takes (full-length clips for best results).

  2. Choose your edit mode. โ€œStaircaseโ€ cuts sequentially, โ€œManualโ€ creates cut points you can refine, and โ€œRandomโ€ delivers that dynamic, natural-feeling music video style.

  3. Adjust pacing. Want a faster edit? Speed it up. Editing a slow song? Slow it down by selecting "calm mode"ย

  4. Apply effects. Use the AI VFX Applier to add transitions, camera shakes, or overlays with one click. All the presets are native to Premiere Pro,ย no Sapphire plugins or third-party installs required.

  5. Export & refine. Obviously AutoEdit's final cut won't be perfect, thats where your creative intuition and skills as a filmmaker comes into play. Feel free to change or adjust any clips or effects AutoEdit made, but nonetheless it still saves you the first few initial hours of setup.ย

Why I Built It

Iโ€™ve been there,ย  balancing shooting the videos, late night editign sessiosn, client video revisions, and my own youtube videos, it leads to intense creative burnout. AutoEdit won't replace your editing, it just gets you past the boring tedious parts faster so you can focus on the actual creativity

Whether youโ€™re editing music videos or event recaps, AutoEdit turns days of repetitive boring editing work into minutes.

Where to Get It?
