📥 Installing AutoEdit™

Install using the download link in your purchase email. Do not drag-and-drop files onto the panel.

Windows

  • Run the .exe installer from the email link. Follow prompts to finish.
  • Open Premiere Pro → Window > Extensions > AutoEdit.
  • If the panel misbehaves, restart Premiere while holding Alt to reset plug-in loading cache.

Mac

  • Put your Mac into Reduced Security.
  • Open the .dmg and run the .pkg installer.
  • Restart Premiere while holding Option to reset plug-in loading cache, then open via Window > Extensions.
File names must read exactly:
AutoEdit™ for WINDOWS.exe
AutoEdit™ for MAC.dmg
If your files don’t match, you’re using the wrong build.

🛡️ Mac Reduced Security (Required)

  • Shut down. Hold the power button on boot for Startup Options (Intel: hold Shift during restart).
  • Choose Options → Continue → Utilities → Startup Security Utility.
  • Select your system disk → choose Reduced Security and enable the two allow/override options.
  • Restart. Install the .dmg → .pkg, then launch Premiere while holding Option to reset plug-in cache.
Known issue (Intel Macs 2018 & older): Some models don’t retain Reduced Security on first attempt. If AutoEdit still won’t open, repeat the Reduced Security sequence, confirm both checkboxes are enabled, then reinstall and reset the plug-in cache again.

❗ ZXP/CEP Debugging (legacy aid)

Although we discontinued ZXP, you can still use a ZXP installer’s debugging toggles to diagnose a stuck panel.

🧹 Remove Old ZXP (Before Installing V2)

  • Uninstall “AutoEdit” from your ZXP manager completely.
  • Delete extension folders if needed:
    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/
    Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\
  • Reinstall using the latest email installer (.exe on Windows, .dmg → .pkg on Mac).

🎬 Using AutoEdit™ — Overview

AutoEdit V2 adds the new B-Roll Selector to the classic music-video workflow. Watch the full tutorial in the Overview pane or jump into features below.

  • 1) Upload Music Track — Click the button to select a file. Do not drag & drop.
  • 2) Upload Performance Shots — Raw takes are cut automatically.
  • 3) B-Roll Selector (New) — Auto trims shaky/blurry bits and builds a selects timeline.

🎚️ BPM Detector

Analyze BPM, choose edit speed, add markers, and set start offsets when intros delay the downbeat.

BPM Detector feature diagram

BPM “NaN” Quick Fix (Short)

  • If BPM reads “NaN”, you’re likely on an old ZXP build or Mac security is still enhanced. Uninstall ZXP, enable Reduced Security, reinstall, then reset plug-in cache.

🎞️ B-Roll Selector

  • Upload B-roll on Page 1 and click Continue. Choose “music video” only if you already uploaded music + performance.
  • Selector trims unusable moments and builds a green “BRoll Sequence…” selects timeline.
  • You should see percentage progress and ETA during analysis. If not, contact support.
  • For large imports, batch in sets of ~100 clips.

✂️ Automatic Cutting

  • Select your edit type (random / staircase / markers-only) and speed (fast / normal / calm).
  • Use start offset if the song begins after an intro/voicemail, etc.

🛠️ Manual VFX Applier

  • Apply transitions/effects manually wherever you want.
  • Green-screen assets still require Premiere’s Ultra Key to remove green.

✨ AI VFX Applier

  • Works only on sequences created by AutoEdit (it needs the known cut points).
  • Choose effect types (e.g., CRT, film burns), set intensity (% of cuts to receive effects), and apply.

🅰️ Title Card Applier

  • Insert a template at playhead, then customize text and properties in the Essential Graphics panel.
