Last year I got a media pass to shoot a concert for one of my favorite artists, Beabadoobee. I took both photos and videos (only photography was my assignment), but I just never had the time or got around to editing the video...
These were my photos by the way 😄:

I realized this wasn’t just me. A lot of my event videographer friends who shoot weddings, concerts, festivals, conventions, or really any kind of event, actually struggled with the same thing. Editing is just so time consuming.
After a long shoot day, the last thing you want to do is spend hours going through footage and building a recap from scratch.
So two months ago I reached out to my friend who develops Premiere Pro plugins and pitched him an idea: what if we built a plugin that automatically edits event recap videos to the beat of music and applies VFX?
To my surprise, he said, “Yeah, let’s do it.”
After a lot of testing, trial and error, and rebuilding things from the ground up, we finally created an AI plugin that auto-edits event recaps inside Premiere Pro.
And I’m happy to say we’re releasing it publicly on March 5th at 12:00am PST, or it’s already out if you’re reading this after that. What the Plugin Does Event Recap Mode is designed to:
- Detect BPM automatically (or manually)
- Generate B-roll selects
- Build a structured rough cut on beat
- Alternate interview and B-roll (if interviews are uploaded)
- Apply title cards, VFX, and SFX
- Give you a ready-to-edit timeline
The goal is not a final edit. It’s a rough draft that gives you a head start on your edit. So here’s the final result video from that same beabadoobee concert, edited using the Event Recap Mode plugin.
As you can see, it’s not perfect. There are some repeating shots and a few clips I would still swap out. But the fact that this was made in about 2 minutes saved me literal hours compared to editing from scratch. That was the whole point. It’s not about replacing creativity.
It’s about removing the slow, repetitive part so you can focus on making it better. Download the Best AI Event Recap Video Editor Plugin Here (AutoEdit™):
