### Intended workflow

Music Video Mode is built primarily for music videos with:

* One music track
* Full performance takes
* Optional B-roll

It can:

* Sync performance takes
* Detect BPM
* Cut to the beat
* Create B-roll selects
* Apply VFX
* Generate a rough cut timeline

### File upload order

Users must upload files in this order:

1. Music track
2. Performance takes
3. Optional B-roll

Do not drag and drop files into the plugin.

Use the upload buttons.

### Supported formats

Supported:

* MP4
* MOV

Avoid:

* MXF
* BRAW
* Mixed extensions such as .mp4.mov
* Poor-quality online file converters

### Performance take requirements

Performance takes should cover the entire song.

Short or incomplete takes commonly create timeline gaps.

### Edit types

Staircase:

Cuts through performance takes in order.

Manual:

Stacks takes without choosing them automatically.

Random:

Alternates between uploaded takes automatically.

### Edit speeds

Fast:

Best for high-energy edits.

Chill:

Best for slower songs.

Variation:

Mixes different cut speeds.

### Start time

Use Start Time when the beat begins after an intro or voiceover.

### B-roll Selector behavior

Selectr™ trims unusable footage, primarily from the beginning and end of clips.

It creates a B-roll Quick Selects sequence.

This sequence is not the final edit.

If too little B-roll is uploaded, clips may repeat. Selects will NOT be 100% perfect.

### AI VFX

AI VFX only works on timelines generated by AutoEdit automatic cutting.

Manual VFX works on any timeline.

Energy effects require additional Premiere Pro object masking setup.

## MUSIC VIDEO MODE — COMMON ISSUES

### Timeline gaps after trimming

What happened:

There are gaps in the timeline.

Why it happened:

Performance takes do not cover the full song.

How to fix it:

1. Verify all performance takes cover the entire song.
2. Start a brand-new Premiere project.
3. Re-upload full-length takes.
4. Run AutoEdit again.

The sensitivity setting usually does not cause timeline gaps.

### Black screen issue

What happened:

The plugin opens but displays a black screen.

Why it happened:

A cached plugin state or installation issue is preventing the panel from loading.

How to fix it:

1. Close Premiere Pro.
2. Reinstall the Backup Installer included with your download (No need to delete older files, it rewrites)
3. Restart Premiere while holding Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows).
4. Select Clear Media Cache and Reset Plugin Loading.
5. Open a brand-new Premiere project.
6. Launch AutoEdit again.

For Music Video Mode only after Reinstalling with the backup:

Run your first test without uploading B-roll.

The Backup Installer may include an older B-roll Selectr™ feature that can occasionally freeze during B-roll analysis.

If they are on MAC and encounter the black screen error:

1. Have the user check if they have ~/Documents/AutoEdit and ~/Documents/Auto Edit
2. If they do, delete those folders
3. Close and relaunch Premiere and Reinstall AutoEdit Music Video Mode using the same DMG installer.
4. Does it work now?
5. Do they have the ~/Documents/AutoEdit folder(s) after relaunching?

### Frozen during B-roll analysis

What happened:

The plugin freezes during B-roll selection.

Why it happened:

The Backup Installer may include an older Selectr™ version.

How to fix it:

1. Run your first test without B-roll.
2. Confirm the plugin works.
3. Add B-roll after successful testing.

### BPM shows NaN or freezes

How to fix it:

1. Close Premiere.
2. Restart while holding Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows).
3. Select Clear Media Cache and Reset Plugin Loading.
4. Reopen the plugin.

### Audio Synchronize failed

What happened:

Premiere could not match the waveforms.

Why it happened:

Clip audio is too quiet, unclear, or different from the music track.

This is generally a Premiere limitation, not a plugin issue.

How to fix it:

Use clips with clearer audio or sync manually.

### Stock footage / B-roll-only workflows

Music Video Mode is primarily designed for performance-take music videos.

However, B-roll-only workflows are possible.

How to fix it:

1. Upload 1-2 placeholder performance takes.
2. Upload your B-roll.
3. Run AutoEdit.
4. Use the B-roll Quick Selects sequence.
5. Ignore the performance timeline.

B-roll is required.

## EVENT RECAP MODE — COMMON ISSUES

### Interview analysis freezes on Mac

Enable Full Disk Access:

System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access → Premiere Pro

Restart Premiere.

### Missing Film Burn files

Duplicate and rename:

* @devinhuynh_Film Burn 27 → @devinhuynh_Film Burn 27-1
* @devinhuynh_Film Burn 28 → @devinhuynh_Film Burn 28-1

Premiere should relink automatically.

### TypeError: undefined is not an object

Why it happened:

One or more files are unsupported or corrupted.

How to fix it:

1. Use only native MP4 or MOV files.
2. Avoid MXF and BRAW.
3. Avoid online converters.
4. Use Quick Mode instead of Higher Accuracy.
5. Restart the project.

### Clip is not long enough

Double-click the green sequence or nested clip and extend the clip until it covers the visible frame area.

If Selectr stalls:

1. Restart Premiere.
2. Import clips in batches of 10-20.
3. Avoid batches larger than 100 clips.

We also have removed some of the slider features in a new update to ensure for faster loading, so if you don't see the slider options, they are no longer there on purpose and are actually helping make the plugin faster at loading selects.
